How are Canvas Gallery Wraps made?

First the image is color-corrected and adjusted to print size, using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. The image is then processed through Genuine Fractals 6 for resizing and mirroring the image in preparation for stretching. Next we print the image on archival quality canvas using archival quality inks. When the ink is dry, we apply a specially-formulated eco-friendly coating to protect the print from damage and harmful UV rays. We then stretch the canvas over a custom-built wood frame. Each print is signed and dated by Dan Berg.

What are Archival Inks?

Archival inks are high quality inks that are designed to resist fading and weathering. Archival inks work best with specially designed archival paper or canvas. In order to successfully endure over time, an ink must have the ability to resist fading, and must also remain fast to the paper or canvas it is printed on. The inks we use have lightfastness ratings of up to 108 years.

What is Archival Canvas?

Archival canvas, specifically the Epson Premium Canvas Satin that we use, is made from a durable blend of 65% Polyester and 35% Cotton that’s ideal for photographic and fine art reproductions. It offers a high resolution coating that is pliable enough to withstand stretching without sagging, and displays a subtle texture for a true artistic look and feel. This canvas provides a high gloss finish, instant dry versatility, and water resistance to allow for all applications that require the highest image quality and an archival display life.

What is Protective Coating?

We use Glamour™2 protective coating to seal and protect all our canvas prints. This is a non-yellowing, water based varnish specifically for finishing inkjet prints. It helps resist image fading by blocking harmful UV rays, and will protect your images against moisture and abrasion.
